Student Support Fund
Help A Student Reach Further! Give to our Student Support Fund
We interact with young people from disadvantaged backgrounds on a daily basis, coming face to face with their struggles. For most of our students, the anxiety to “not be a burden” on their working class families, and the pressure to “earn and support” their parents and siblings, makes pursuing a higher education.
For girls, there is the additional pressure of being “married off” to relieve their parents of the burden of educating them and keeping them at home. For some, it is violence in the family that pushes them to stop studying and to look for shelter and a job.
Being first generation learners, most of them have very limited perspectives and information about work opportunities and educational avenues. Many also travel to Bangalore from neighboring rural taluks to study in colleges and work in part-time jobs before returning back to their villages at night, exhausted by erratic bus schedules and exam time-tables.
Your contribution lightens their load, so they can look to the future.
- Rs 12,000 – will put a student through a livelihood education programme at Baduku Community College
- Rs 15,000 – will support a student’s college degree education for 1 year
- Rs 25,000 – will sponsor a student’s vocational education training

Baduku Campus Development Fund
Invest in the Future with Baduku Community College
Baduku Campus Development fund
Our long-cherished dream has been to build an eco-friendly space dedicated to the empowerment of marginalised youth across Karnataka. The Baduku Community College Campus is a place where youth from marginalised communities will live and learn together, expanding horizons and re-thinking aspirations without fear of ridicule or fear of being forced into professions against their wishes!
Currently, we work from rented premises for our Youth Resource Centers, Administrative office and Baduku Community College. Samvada conducts over 30-35 short and long duration training events round the year, several of which are hosted in our Training House.
The House provides a make-shift classroom, discussion spaces, joint messing, dormitories and a student lab, with little space for recreation. It cannot accommodate more than 25 people at any given time. This has meant severe constraints on space and a constant search for low cost training venues where we can conduct short workshops and long-term courses.
Phase One : Thanks to the generosity of a few donors, in 2016, we purchased ½ an acre of land near Agara Village near Thatguni, off Kanakpura Road to build a space customised to our needs and values. Our institutional donors are contributing towards Phase One of the Campus Construction, and work is underway with a team of capable architects, an excellent contractor and our competent site engineers. This phase will be completed in the next 6 months.
We are now raising funds for Phase Two – which includes classroom and hostel furniture and equipment, a Common room, amphitheatre, transformer and an additional dormitory. We estimate that this will cost us about Rs 46 Lakhs. This is where we need your help.
Your contribution will help us provide a safe, secure, and supportive environment for so many young people seeking to build a better life for themselves and their families. Help us give these young people the education they deserve!
